In awe of the Fijian talent to sit round the grog bowl tirelessly performing entertaining high spirited songs Joannathan Design Ltd, following their successful re-design of the “Meke Love Not War” slogan, decided to add a good old fashion English knees up to the mix.

Their debut performance was on the 1st July 2008 to a captivated audience including Tui Mali and the unstoppable Pu Pu “Hands of Steel” to celebrate the passing of Chief.

On soprano Jo Foot, on baritone Jon Szunko accompanied by Ben “can sit for hours cross legged” Katz on the Ukulele, (autographs available on request, please send pre paid stamped envelope to Vorovoro).

The song was received with rapturous applause and much laughter in response to the many embarrassing yet what they would like to think endearing mistakes.

With pride Joannathan Design Ltd now present to you their knee slapping, grog drinking, general merry making debut folk song “Bula Sia To Our Vorovoro” to the tune of “Um Pah Pah” from “Oliver!”…

Verse 1

In the South Pacific
Fiji to be specific
Is somewhere terrific
A place that I know

Tribewanted are a waiting
No time for hesitating
We’re always celebrating
On Vorovoro

Chorus

Bula sia to our Vorovoro
A home from a home somewhere always to go
We never feel lonely there’s someone we’ll know
To greet with a Bula sia!

Verse 2

On arrival you’ll be greeted
A tour you’ll be treated
Grand bure you’ll be seated
For sevusevu

Hand over your kava
Tui Mali, adopted father
Drink ‘till the bowl is maca
Say sosoratu

Chorus

Verse 3

When the sun is shining
Between fine dining
Kick back and start reclining
Pick up a good book

If you’re exercising
Best start apologising
Jim’s anger will be rising
Go go hammocks

Chorus

Verse 4

Sweaty and sticky
Washing can be tricky
Mosquitoes aren’t picky
Watch out for your bits

Vital to us all
For when nature comes to call
For us to the compost ball
That is full of our…

Chorus

Verse 5

We may not have a bar here
But grog is never far dear
Come join in with an “ho ya”
And “man a van do”

I think I’ll have a low tide
Get lost you little point five
Lean back and open wide
Lamb chopped – yeah me too

Chorus

Verse 6

Night time can be scary
The spiders are so hairy
Oh look dear there’s a fairy
No it’s a rat – Argh!

Its coming straight towards me
We’re safest up a tall tree
This branch is awfully wobbly
You’re stood on a bat

Chorus

Verse 7

When its time to say goodbye
We will try not to cry
Friends for life
We will do just fine

Serenade us away
With the Isa Lei
Gone but we’re in your hearts
And found online

Chorus

Verse 8

We’ll write by the hour
Complain about the showers
Suggest you eat the flowers
It’s sustainable

We’ll always belong here
In fact we’ll be back next year
So try to keep the coast clear
For us to sing…

Chorus

Bula sia to our Vorovoro
Near by or far away we will always know
To join hands together for the conch call
For a home from a home is a home after all!
